1) If my memory serves me correctly, my daughter had a visit at her own school from one of the Pastoral team around June/July. She received a letter from a current Year 7 pupil too, and they were able to email back and forth over the summer, answering any questions she had. We received a pack from the school with some activities to do before their induction day in July (Maths, Science, English and Art, and a library task too.) At the new parents evening we were separated into the forms the girls would be in, and given a booklet with lots of information in - stationery needed, an overview of the school day etc. I thought the communication from the school was really good.
2) My daughter wears any shirt under her blazer - they aren't allowed to take blazers off so it's not something that's checked. I would say any tights are acceptable - they are quite relaxed in my experience when it comes to uniform (although they are very hot on the girls wearing lanyards all the time - tip to not forget lanyards is to attach it onto the school bag the night before so it's not forgotten!) My daughter sneakily rolls her skirt up too - which I think a lot of the girls do.
3) Batemans I found to be really good - I'd certainly book an appointment before the summer holiday to avoid the rush and to ensure they have time to order any stock in for you. I think we booked in for end of June. They have a policy that you can exchange items right up until Sept if you've had it fitted and then your daughter suddenly has a growth spurt so you need a bigger size.
